October Stableford, played on Sunday 3rd.

This Sunday morning comp I invited new member of Whitefield Graham Strachan, and he arranged to bring along his son Charlie, age 14, handicap 26.

This was Charlie’s first experience of playing a comp off the white tees and he acquitted himself very well. Coming from a family of good golfers, it was a pleasure to see how well Charlie hit the ball. He’s also a member of Manchester GC for junior competitive golf, if he does play in more comps at Whitefield, I can see he will win a good number of prizes here.

Scores – my 30pts put me in 39th place out of 60 on a high scoring day. I started very well with score of 17pts after 6 holes then only 13 gained on the final 12 holes, included six no returns.

Great scores overall, congratulations to Jonny Pollock who had a great day, carding 45 points off 7 handicap.
